Sussex members, Chris and Doug Beer, report on their VJ Day this year...
“A few of us went to our memorial in Litten Gardens, Chichester, to pay our respects and lay a posy. Nothing was organised as we’d had a lovely service the year before, in 2020. We then travelled on to Southsea seafront by the estuary, to lay a posy at the FEPOW plaque that I’d obtained permission to have put there. In all, we ‘did our bit’ in honour of our dear Dads - all the time we can keep their memory alive, they will never be forgotten.
“It was lovely to see the COFEPOW service at Lichfield and then afterwards at the NMA, too.”
