2021 Memorial Service update 20 March 2021.
Arrangements for Wymondham’s FEPOW Memorial service will go ahead as planned on 16th May at 12:30pm as an online live streamed service. Unfortunately, National Lockdown rules still restrict travel within England which also affects Hospitality options. Reluctantly, this means we have to ‘Keep it Local’. This restricts our maximum congregation to approximately 50 persons and ‘Light Refreshments’ cannot be provided this year. We hope that people will exercise their good sense to comply with this. For those able to join us in person, the church has a ‘Track & Trace App’ and Contact lists are also in operation. As guided by the Diocese of East Anglia, facemasks/ coverings are to be worn and hand sanitising protocol is followed. The service has socially distanced seating and is stewarded in the same way as our Sunday services. We are now quite practiced at this. After each service the church is always ‘fogged’ with a sterilising mist.
Hopefully, with Lockdown status scheduled to be reviewed on March 29th & April 12th, changes may be made. Any relaxation that alters movement, hospitality and distancing directives will be scrutinised as they are announced and new guidance published on the church FEPOW webpage www.wymondhamrcchurch.org.uk/fepow
For those ‘Local’ visitors who wish to attend, please email Peter Wiseman directly at fepow@wymondhamrcchurch.org.uk or Phone 01953604144 to book a place or get more details.
All are welcome to join us virtually. The Livestream is available at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmPstVjBimy3N0oC3Zmln8g/videos?view=57 Having found the YouTube site, you may like to subscribe to our channel for easy access and bookmark it.
We look forward to being able to share a few special moments with the wider FEPOW Community as we honour the Memory of relatives and friends who suffered and died in the Far East Prison camps of WWII.
